  Incredibly poor customer service. I had to send out about 30 CDs in envelopes. There were several people working and while I felt bad that it was a large task, I felt good knowing that other workers could help the rest of the customers quickly and efficiently. The employee I was dealing with asked me about some decorations that were on the packaging I had and I informed him as to the reason to which he rolled his eyes. After finishing the packages, I thanked him and told him I appreciated it as it was a large task. He then proceeded to give me "suggestions," but really, he lectured me. He told me that I am not supposed to tie him up for that long (despite, as I mentioned, there were other workers helping other in line and no one had to wait because of me). He said that if I am to do this again, so bring in one envelope so I could be set up with stamps to do them myself. I would have been happy to do just this, but why wasn't it suggested to me when I came in? Wouldn't it have been better to mention that in the beginning and "set me up" with what I needed before spending the 20 minutes doing it? Then he told me that whoever addressed the envelopes needs to learn how it do it properly because a lot of them were bad. He said I could look up how to do it properly online. Now, all the CDs were going out to college radio stations....all of the addresses were taken right from the radio station websites. They were addressed properly and uniformly. I went to the New London Post Office with a considerably higher number of packages to send on several occasions. I was never told not to bring in that many packages and I was never told they were not addressed properly. At New London they simply told me that they understood that people need to send things out with I apologized for the size of the task. The man in Waterford acted unprofessionally and was down right rude. I wish I had said something to him then and there but I was caught off guard by his attitude and was very uncomfortable. I simply said thank you and left. This is a government job with good benefits, pay, etc. This is not how employees should act. I really hate writing this because I work in the service industry and find it awful when people nit pick, but this is just beyond bad.

  It's purpose is clear but the staff could be a bit more friendly.
